Obama Surprised by Surge Success; McCain Was Not
Obama was interviewed by Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly this week and said that the surge in Iraq worked beyond his wildest dreams.
This again reveals his short-sightedness about the military and foreign policy.
John McCain wasn’t surprised by the surge’s success because he understands Iraq and Al Quaeda.
Now, Obama is talking about Afghanistan. Well, the terrorists left Iraq and went back home to Afghanistan. It’s all connected!
Bush should have had Afghanistan more prepared. And we need to keep our eyes open. When we put pressure on Afghanistan - terrorists will flee elsewhere.
I know that sounds like endless war to some, but this is the reality of terrorism. Do nothing, we get hit. 8 year of unresponsiveness to terrorist attacks by the Clinton Administration proves it.
No commentsMore People Killed in Chicago this Summer than Soldiers in Iraq
More people were shot and killed in Chicago this summer than the number of soldiers who died serving in Iraq this past summer.
Of course, Chicago is in the state of Illinois, where Presidential Candidate Barack Obama hails from. He has touted his experience as a community organizer in Chicago as a major reason why he should be President.
Between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend:
- 125 were shot and killed in Chicago
- 65 were killed in combat in Iraq
- About 65 were killed in combat in Afghanistan
Think Bush is Stupid? Just Look in the Mirror.
Most people who think Bush is stupid have never really examined the issues. Those who have, are just plain stupid and are projecting onto Bush.
Perhaps you’ve seen this email going around. If not, take a look. Here’s some facts about how “stupid” Bush is and how “brilliant” the Democrats are? Obama is a false Messiah.
Remember the election in 2006? Thought you might like to read the following:
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.
Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!
Remember it’s Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what’s handed to him.
Quote of the Day……..’My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you’ll join with me as we try to change it.’
– Barack Obama

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates
It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever.
If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can’t wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don’t even know what happened.

1 commentObama Says Democrats are Responsible for Recent Iraq Success
In the ABC presidential debate on Saturday night, Barack Obama suggested that the reason that Iraq has seen less violence lately is due to the 2006 elections resulting in a Democratic Congress.
Unfortunately, that logic is severely flawed.
- The Democrats not only were unable to start bringing troops home, but President Bush increased troop levels.
- The data only shows violence decreasing once the troop surge began - not in November of 2006, when elections were held.
- The Iraqi people began siding with the United States when they realized that Al Quaida was not on their side and that they were just as much a target and victims of extremist Islamic terrorism as Americans - even when they sided with the terrorists.
We also have to consider other Democrat beliefs and how they do not coincide with success in Iraq. First of all, they believe that Bush is pushing propoganda on the Iraqi people. Of course, this directly contradicts with their hatred of us. But it also contradicts with the idea that Iraqi people would see Democrats as an indication to get moving on the development of their country.
Secondly, if Iraq is in such terrible shape, how would the people even have access to the news about the Democratic victory, let alone that a major tenet of that victory including reducing troops.
The Democrats insistence that Iraq get its act together is ignorant. These people were tortured by a vicious dictator for decades. It is a worthy goal to help this nation and these people.
Pulling out troops will not end the Iraq war. And it will not make America safer. It may save the lives of some troops, but it will ultimately result in more deaths of civilians on American soil.
No commentsEdwards: You Can’t Negotiate with Insurance Companies But You Can Negotiate with Terrorists
It’s no secret that the Democrats think you can negotiate with dictators and terrorists.
But did you know that John Edwards said you can’t negotiate with Insurance Companies? That’s what he said to an ABC reporter. It was aired on Nightline just a few hours ago. He also added in corporations in general.
So, let me get this straight…
We can negotiate with terrorists whose sole goal is to destroy Western Countries.
But we can’t negotiate with American companies that provide millions of jobs and a wealth of services and products to the American people. Not to mention help fund 401ks and pay taxes to the government.
Edwards is not the guy for our Presidency!
No commentsPulling Troops Out of Iraq Will Not END the War
You can pull the troops out of Iraq, but it won’t end the war.
Al-Quada has been displaced out of much of Bagdad and the Anwar region in the past few months. Without the US military, they would easily regain the territory.
It’s not because the Iraqi soldiers are anti-American. They’re not. They have come around. They support America, and they’re good soldiers. But they don’t have the equipment they need to sustain their country yet.
Additionally, pulling out of Iraq will hinder diplomacy with Iran. Having a military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan is the best chance we have at diplomacy with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Al-Qaeda and the Iraqi Militant Network no longer have a stronghold in Baghdad.
The surge has resulted in decreased violence in Iraq. And now we’re on track to start sending the surge soldiers home.

4 commentsYou Cannot Reason with People Who Hide Bombs in Dead Children
The war in Iraq is about terror.
If you doubt this, then you need to read Michael Yon’s Bless the Beasts and the Children. (warning: gruesome pictures)
Michael Yon is an independent journalist embedded with the armed forces in Iraq. While there he learned that:
Al Qaeda often plants bombs inside the dead bodies of the animals and people they’ve killed. They have rigged children’s bodies with explosives.
Read that again. Al Qaeda is killing the Iraqis.
Why?
Because the Iraqis are fighting WITH the Americans. The Americans say that the Iraqis are good fighters, they just need the logistical support, which is where the U.S. and allies come in.
The Iraqis are increasingly becoming disgusted with Al Qaeda. And that’s an understatement. Al Qaeda will destroy anyone who is not supportive of their extreme Islamic agenda.
A free Iraq is a huge threat to Al Qaeda. Because it means that Iran is surrounded by democracy. And that means we have a greater likelihood of using diplomacy instead of force to get Iran to behave.
We cannot back down. We cannot withdraw. Iraq is a cornerstone for fighting the war on terror. If we pull the troops, Al Qaeda wins. And none of us want another 9/11.
No commentsNational Guard Can Win War on Fires but not in Iraq
For months, opponents of the war have said that the American military cannot win the war in Iraq. But this week, some have been saying that the California National Guard could have prevented the spread of the California wildfires if only they were not in Iraq. Nevermind that there are 10,000 firefighters on the scene. There are 17,000 members of the California National Guard. Only 3,000 of them are in Iraq.
Another argument against the war in Iraq is that our troops are in harm’s way for a pointless war. But bringing in the National Guard for these fires could also be construed as needless. Wildfires in Southern California are nothing new, and yet people insist on building expensive homes in this high risk area. Just as New Orleans was built below Sea Level and San Francisco rests on a powerful earthquake fault.
It would be outrageous to suggest that Americans only build in low-risk climates. Almost every location is subject to some kind of natural disaster. It would almost be as outrageous as suggesting that Al Quaida was operating in every major country in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America - except Iraq.
